OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — What started as a party left multiple agencies investigating what led up to a deadly crash. Three people are now in custody after allegedly fleeing Polk County deputies, leading them into Osceola County where a crash killed one person.

What You Need To Know

  • Polk County deputies arrived to a house party in Davenport in the early hours of Saturday morning

  • An ambulance was called to assist an intoxicated person, then deputies approached a Range Rover to ask the driver to move so first responders could get through

  • According to deputies, the driver was uncooperative

  • When a deputy attempted to get their tag number, the driver fled into Osceola County where they allegedly hit and killed someone

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived to the Sol Terra subdivision around 1 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call about a possible fight going on outside.

After arriving, deputies say they found about 150 people at the party, some of them underaged. One person appeared to have been so intoxicated that medical aid was needed, so deputies called in E.M.S. services.

Deputies began directing people and cars so that first responders could get in. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, they approached a 2019 Range Rover.

"They won't roll down their windows, they won't communicate," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

The deputy then went around the back to take note of the car's temporary tag number.

"The Range Rover takes off, side-swipping his patrol truck, and leaves the area," said Sheriff Judd.

The sheriff's office alleges the car led deputies into Osceola County, until it reached an intersection, hitting another vehicle and killing an innocent victim.

"I was really upset that that could happen here. And I just feel bad for [the victim's] family," said Kayla Rodriguez, whose house backs up to the scene of the crash. "It was crazy to think it could have been anyone driving home that day."

Deputies now have Jarquez Malique Page, Angel Burgos Rosello, and Alaric Shango McFarlane in custody. Sheriff Judd says all three have prior records, and all three now face multiple charges from PCSO and Florida Highway Patrol. The Range Rover involved has been identified as one stolen out of Martin County.

Because FHP is investigating the crash, Sheriff Judd did not release the identity of the victim.

At a press conference Saturday, the sheriff's office says they are waiting on a warrant to search the Range Rover. Sheriff Judd says a gun is visible from outside the window.
