The most expensive drink in the galaxy isn’t too far, far away. The $5,000 Kaiburr Crystal, a Star Wars-inspired cocktail, can actually be found aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, but it’s more than just an high-priced beverage.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney Wish features a Star Wars-themed bar called Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge

  • The bar also has an offering called Kaiburr Crystal, which is priced at $5,000

  • After a lot of mystery and non-answers, it appears the price tag includes the drink as well as an experience

The Disney Wish, which is schedule to embark on its maiden voyage July 14, has a bar called Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge.

During the media preview sailing this week, a few people, including myself, noticed an item on the menu called the Kaiburr Crystal, which was priced at $5,000. The only description offered for the cocktail is that it’s “the galaxy’s rarest and valuable cocktail.”

Of course, the hefty price tag and that vague description alone were enough to send the internet into a frenzy. What was it exactly? What did the drink contain to warrant $5,000? Was it even real?

Well, to answer the last question, yes, it is in fact real. Disney, however, has been reluctant to share any details about the cocktail, making this whole thing a big mystery. However, more information has come out and the drink is more than just a drink. It’s a whole package.

The Kaiburr Crystal is more than just one drink, it’s a flight that includes four drinks. They are served in a camtono, a storage device most recently seen in the “Star Wars” series “The Book of Boba Fett.”

When I visited Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, I was shown the camtono device in action and told it was “the most expensive drink in the galaxy.”

So what’s in it? I asked around, and no one would tell me. I also asked if there was more to the Kaiburr Crystal beyond the drink, but alas, no answer.

The mystery didn’t last too long, thanks to travel journalist Arthur Levine, who was able to get more details out of one of the bartenders. The cocktail includes Camus cognac, Grand Mariner Quintessence and yuzu and kumquat, according to Levine’s article on About Theme Parks. It also includes shots of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23-year bourbon and Taylor’s Fladgate Kingsman Edition Very Old Tawny Port.

You don’t get to keep the camtono, but the $5,000 reportedly also gets you special amenities on the ship, including a bottle of wine from George Lucas’ Skywalker Vineyards delivered to your stateroom. The "package" also includes a visit to Skywalker Ranch, which located in California.

Disney so far has yet to make any official statement regarding the Kaiburr Crystal.

Now for those looking for something that won’t break their bank account, Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge does offer more reasonably-priced cocktails such as Spire Sunset for $15, Berken’s Flow for $16 or The Chancellor for $20.

The lounge, which becomes an adults-only space in the evenings, also features Star Wars-themed artifacts on display. It also has a large screen that serves as a viewport that shows “hyperspace jumps” to different locations across the galaxy.
