KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Two young men and a 17-year-old girl were charged after a Kissimmee man was fatally shot and dumped in Marion County, investigators announced Tuesday.

  • Body found after brush fire in Ocala
  • Murder charges filed against 2 men
  • Teen accused of being an accessory

The body of Malik Brown, 37, was found after officials responded to a brush fire in Ocala on Sunday.

That same day, Daytona Beach Police stopped a vehicle owned by the 17-year-old girl and occupied by the two male suspects, Thaddeous A. Warrington, 19, and Mark A. Velez-Amador, 24.

The men were both charged with first-degree murder. The teen was accused of being an accessory after the fact.

Spectrum News is not identifying her because of her age.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a home on the 2900 block of Bonita Circle near Kissimmee at 2 a.m. Saturday after a shooting report.

“On scene, deputies found evidence that a shooting did take place and someone was injured, but no one involved in the incident was on scene when deputies arrived,” the agency said in a statement released by Maj. Jacob Ruiz.

Investigators identified the three suspects and the victim. The three men lived together and got into an argument, which Ruiz said led to the fatal shooting.

“Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to Ocala and Daytona Beach to continue their investigation,” the statement added. The suspects cooperated and were arrested on warrants.

Warrington and Velez-Amador are being held temporarily at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach and will be transported to Osceola County.

The location of the teen suspect couldn’t be determined late Tuesday.
