DUNNELLON, Fla. — Possible human remains have been discovered in an elderly couple's home in Marion County and a missing relative of theirs is being sought.

In fact, the couple, 75-year-old Layton Underwood and 69-year-old Donna Underwood, are considered missing.

Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office are trying to put together at the Dunnellon home located in the Lake Tropicana community.

They were doing a well-being check Thursday on the Underwoods. The couple have not been seen around Christmastime and are considered "missing endangered," by the Sheriff's Office.

Also listed as "missing endangered" is their 53-year-old relative Allyn Gilbert. Detectives believe he is driving the Underwoods' 2014 White VW Passat S with the Florida tag GXR D85.

Anyone with information on the case or on Gilbert’s location is urged to contact Marion County Det. Aaron Levy at 352-368-3546 or Crime Stoppers at 352-368-STOP (7867).
