ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld Orlando’s new coaster, Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, officially opens to the public on Saturday, along with a new surf-themed show.

What You Need To Know

An opening ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Visit Orlando CEO Cassandra Matej are expected to speak at the ceremony.

The morning will also include a “Pipeline Day” proclamation.

Pipeline, which celebrates surfing cultures found around the world, features ride vehicles that are shaped like large surfboards. Instead of sitting in traditional coaster seats, riders will be standing.

The coaster reaches speeds of up to 60 mph and heights of 110 feet.

The ride has a minimum height requirement of 54 inches and a maximum height limit of 78 inches.

SeaWorld will also debut a new surf-inspired stage show called “Surf Holiday” on Saturday. The show’s story will be about preserving and conserving the oceans. It will also have singing and dancing.

The park is also launching its Summer Spectacular, which will feature nighttime fireworks, a DJ and dancers at Club SeaGlow, and seasonal bites. The event runs select dates through Sept. 4.
