ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld Orlando’s Mako has been voted the best roller coaster in the United States in USA Today’s annual 10Best Readers’ Choice poll.

The coaster, which opened in 2016, beat out Cedar Point’s Steel Vengeance, Hersheypark’s Skyrush and Six Flags Over Georgia’s Goliath. Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the only other Florida coaster to make the top 10, placed fourth.

Aquatica Orlando topped the list of best water parks in the U.S. Other Florida water parks to make the list included Island H2O in Kissimmee and Adventure Island in Tampa.

Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo., was voted the best theme park in the country, beating Central Florida parks such as last year’s winner SeaWorld Orlando (placing third this year) and Busch Gardens, which placed eighth.

Several Central Florida attractions made the top 10 in the non-coaster ride category, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in third, Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in fourth, Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios in fifth, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida in sixth, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure in seventh, Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Islands of Adventure in eighth and Soarin’ Around the World at EPCOT in tenth.

The nominees in each 10Best Readers’ Choice category are selected by a panel of experts and editors. The winners are then determined by online votes.
