In an memo to staff, Universal Destinations & Experiences Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Woodbury announced the appointments of Brian Robinson and Eric Parr to key leadership roles with the division’s Creative Studio unit.

Robinson has been promoted to the role of executive vice president, chief creative officer. In this new role, he will lead the Creative Studio, media, architecture and planning, and attraction development.

Robinson will transition from his current role of executive vice president, Brand Strategy & Creative with Universal Products & Experiences. The new role will also involve a planned move to Orlando later this year.

Woodbury also announced the promotion of Parr to senior vice president of the Creative Studio. Reporting to Robinson, Parr will have an expanded role leading creative design on new attractions, destinations and experiences.

“Universal Destinations & Experiences has an exciting future with a powerful aspiration, phenomenal product, a differentiated brand purpose, and an extraordinarily talented team,” Woodbury said in a statement. “This inspires my confidence in where we are going as a company and in Brian Robinson’s and Eric Parr’s ability to take the Creative Studio to new heights.”

Woodbury also said he plans to announce other key appointments soon.

The news comes after the departure of two top Universal Creative executives — former Universal Creative president Mike Hightower and former chief creative officer Thierry Coup. Both retired from the creative unit last week.

Under Comcast’s NBCUniversal umbrella, Destinations & Experiences is the new name given to the parks business (formerly Parks & Resorts) earlier this month as part of a rebrand to “better reflect the full breadth of innovative offerings Universal brings to fans around the globe.”

The rebrand also included the announcement of a park designed for families in Frisco, Texas, and a year-round horror inspired experience in Las Vegas.
