  • The mission sent 11 spacecraft to orbit

  • Bandwagon-1 mission launched at 7:16 p.m. ET

  • The liftoff took place at Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center

Leaving from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, the Falcon 9 rocket launched the Bandwagon-1 mission at 7:16 p.m. ET, SpaceX stated.

It was an instantaneous launch.

The forecast was good for Sunday night’s launch, as the 45th Weather Squadron gave about a 95% chance of good liftoff conditions.

Going up

The Falcon 9 first-stage booster, B1073, has 13 launch missions to its name, not counting the Bandwagon-1 mission.

After the stage separation, the rocket’s first-stage booster landed at Landing Zone 1.

Getting on the bandwagon

The Falcon 9 rocket is loaded with 11 spacecraft from various countries and companies.

“On board this mission are 11 spacecraft including KOREA’s 425Sat, HawkEye 360’s Clusters 8 & 9, Tyvak International’s CENTAURI-6, iQPS’s QPS-SAR-7 TSUKUYOMI-II, Capella Space’s Capella-14, and Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s TSAT-1A,” SpaceX stated.

Here is what has been found on some of the payload.

HawkEye 360’s Clusters 8 & 9: It will help monitor and prevent illegal and unregulated fishing in the Indo-Pacific region, stated the company.

Tyvak International’s CENTAURI-6: Not much is known about this satellite, but the previous CENTAURI satellites dealt in telecommunications and internet connectivity.

iQPS’s QPS-SAR-7 TSUKUYOMI-II: This satellite will emit strong radio waves to produce high-resolution images.

Capella Space’s Capella-14: The Acadia-4 satellite will provide “up to 5x more on-orbit imaging time per satellite relative to other commercial SAR providers …” stated the Capella company.

Not much could be found on the two payloads KOREA’s 425Sat and Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s TSAT-1A.
