MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. -- A Volusia County driver was killed Wednesday after he was ejected from his SUV in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Kenneth Broadway, 53, of Edgewater was heading south on Courtenay Parkway in a 1999 Toyota 4Runner when he lost control of the SUV at 7:25 a.m. at Biolab Road in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

State troopers don’t know why Broadway lost control. His SUV overturned multiple times, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Broadway was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene, troopers said.

A crash investigation is ongoing.
