OAK HILL, Fla. — One of the two teens sought in connection with a shooting at an Oak Hill home last weekend turned himself in Monday evening.

Sylvano Leslie II, 17, turned himself in Monday at the Daytona Beach Police Department. The other suspect, James Powell, 15, remains at large.

Joel Tatro, 47, is at Halifax Health Medical Center in serious condition.

According to detectives, four teens showed up, uninvited, to a campfire party at Tatro's home in Oak Hill on the 100 block of East Church Street at about 1 a.m. on Sunday.

When he asked them to leave, one of the teens refused, and the disagreement turned physical.

The shooting victim's father, John, said that when his son asked the teens to leave, one of the teens shoved him. Joel pushed back, and the teen pulled out a gun, according to witnesses at the party.

John Tatro said the teen shot his son once in the neck, and the bullet struck Joel's spinal cord.

"You put a bullet into the spine of my son and put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his days and tore a beautiful family into shreds. So whatever you're doing and wherever you are, I'm not going to wish the best for you, but what I want you to do is pay your dues now," John Tatro said.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Leslie and Powell are both members of the 4K gang, which is known for breaking into cars and stealing firearms.

The teens are wanted on attempted second-degree murder charges. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Powell.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office by calling 911 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1-888-277-8477 (TIPS).
