Orlando police officer William Anderson, who was run over during a traffic stop earlier this month, is back home after being released from a treatment facility.

Officer Anderson had been undergoing treatment at the University of Florida Shands Hospital inpatient rehabilitative center in Gainesville.

He was released Thursday and will continue to receive speech and physical therapy through Shands.

On July 13, police say Anderson was run down by a teen driver during a traffic stop at the intersection of Kirkman Road and Vineland Street.

Dashboard video released by OPD shows Anderson stopping the vehicle and rushing toward the car with his gun drawn. Anderson was responding to reports of shots fired.

As Anderson reaches the driver's window, a passenger jumps out the other door. Anderson appears to run in front of the car. That's when the driver accelerates, hitting Anderson. The officer said he fired twice at the driver.

Three teenagers have been arrested.
