Chaundee Brown was still years away from being born when Dr. Phillips started its run of consecutive 20-win seasons.

But the freshman ensured the streak continued Thursday night.

Brown scored 22 points as the Panthers defeated rival Olympia 71-62 in the Class 8A region quarterfinals.

The victory moves DP (20-8) into the region semifinals and ensures the Panthers will win at least 20 games for the 21st consecutive season.

Dr. Phillips will host Evans on Tuesday night. The Trojans, ranked No. 1 in Class 8A by SourceHoops, beat DP 71-60 in early January.

The Panthers used a 16-2 third quarter run to build a 47-25 lead Thursday night. Brown and David Stephen both excelled during that spurt.

Olympia stormed back and got within five in the closing minutes before DP put the game away.

Marraco Hodges led the Titans (12-15) with 19 points.

Stephen had 14 points and seven assists while junior Jonathan Laurent finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
