Be authentic 100% of the time. That is how Brandon T. Jones approaches his work daily.

He attributes his success as a journalist by being who God made him to be, trusting his intuition and being creative while having fun.

Brandon joined the Spectrum News 13 team in November 2021 as the Volusia/Flagler multimedia journalist, but Central Florida has always been home to him. Born and raised here, he attended West Orange High School and graduated college from Florida A&M.

After earning his Broadcast Journalism degree, Brandon started his reporting career in Spokane, Washington, covering stories that truly impacted his community like the wildfires and the Black Lives Matter protests. These stories helped him understand the importance of approaching his interviews with kindness, grace and respect. All of which are reflected in his work today.

Not only is Brandon a good storyteller, but he also can share a fish tale or two! Each summer he takes an annual deep sea trip to the Gulf of Mexico to indulge in his favorite pastime. And when he is not on the water, Brandon enjoys the world of sports. He will talk your ear off about the Miami Heat or will take in an Orlando Magic game. He is a Florida Classic fan and has great memories of playing football with his brother at the park growing up.
