ORLANDO, Fla.—At Gatorland theme park, every gator and croc has a story. But as we're finding out, two of the latest arrivals—to their forever home—are recovering from a “worst-case life“ so far.

1.       Gatorland's waterfall enclosure is now home to alligators David and Casanova. “David was found swimming around in Lake Michigan,” said Gatorland's Media Productions Director, Brandon Fisher. “David had his mouth taped up... He had rubber and plastic in his system, which is not good for any animal.”

2.       David was taken to the Wildlife Discovery Center in Chicago. So was Casanova the gator, rescued from a drug sting. “He was kept in a 40 gallon tank. Way too small for an alligator. He was fed a goldfish once a month, which is NOT good.”

3.       In Chicago, the little dudes got nursed back to health. The tight relationship between the Wildlife Discovery Center and Gatorland was a no-brainer decision to transport them here to begin life in their forever home.

4.       “We drove these alligators from Chicago,” said Savannah Boan, Gatorland's Global International Ambassador. “I got to sleep in the back of a van with two alligators, which is really exciting.”

5.       David and Casanova are with nearly 35 other gators in that waterfall exhibit. Most are ages (roughly) 7 to about 20. But the infamous “Pops” is there, too. He is 72!
