OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures’ newest attraction is its enclosed butterfly encounter and garden.

The enclosure itself spans 60 feet and is home to seven species of butterflies that are all native to Florida.

What You Need To Know

  • Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures has opened a butterfly encounter and garden

  • Seven species of butterflies native to Florida can be found inside

  • The property also features a Native American village and gem-mining display

  • The main attraction is the airboat rides through natural sites in the area

Outside the butterfly encounter, so much more is happening around the extensive property. It also features an authentic Native American village, one of the longest gem-mining displays in Central Florida and the genuine star of the show — the airboat tours that take you to see all the sites and nature the area has to offer.

"Here you are going to see plants and animals that are all native to Florida,” Director of Sales Nick Romeo said. “That's our mission — to educate you on native species and teach you how to protect Florida.”

Romeo has been in the communications and marketing industry for the past 30 years, six spent at Boggy Creek. However, his relationship with the local family that runs and owns Boggy Creek dates back to 1994, when the park first opened its doors.

He has seen the property grow and change over the decades it has been in business.

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. For more information on all the activities and experiences offered at Boggy Creek, visit its website.
