BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County residents impacted by Hurricane Ian now have another resource to get back to normal.

What You Need To Know

  • A new disaster recovery center is located at the Cuyler Community Building in the town of Mims

  • It was selected due to the location of the majority of losses and damage caused by Ian

A new disaster recovery center is located at the Cuyler Community Building on Harry T. Moore Avenue in Mims. County officials said it was chosen because the majority of the losses and damage resulting from Ian were seen in the northern part of Brevard County.

Residents can get information about assistance from state of Florida representatives, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Small Business Administration and other outlets.

They can get help to apply for federal aid.

As Ian skirted the Space Coast, its heavy rains left many areas flooded, with some properties washed out.

This recovery center is now open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Affected residents and small businesses are encouraged to pre-register for assistance before coming by.
