TEXAS — As Category 4 storm Hurricane Ian makes landfall in southwest Florida as of Wednesday morning, the hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm.

The American Red Cross has sent relief efforts such as truckloads of additional cots, blankets and comfort kits, along with tens of thousands of relief supplies into the region to be prepared to help as many as 60,000 people.

Thirteen-thousand people spent Tuesday night in American Red Cross evacuation shelters to escape Hurricane Ian. The American Red Cross is continuing to provide relief action to those affected by the hurricane. If you would like to help those impacted by the storm, you can donate to The American Red Cross through visiting their website at redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or texting the word IAN to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
