Derrius Braxton Bauer is a person of interest – not a suspect – in the October 12 incident, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Brittany Kershaw told Spectrum News 13.

“He drives a 2016 Silver Chrysler 200 with a missing front hub cap and Florida tag IL47RH,” the Sheriff’s Office tweeted Monday.

The post included a photo of Bauer and an image of his car.

Bauer is also wanted in Clay County for failure to appear for a traffic offense.

Tipsters are urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 386-313-4911 or email TIPS@FlaglerSheriff.com.

The fatal shooting happened sometime after 3:30 a.m. Oct. 12 outside the store located at 1500 Palm Coast Parkway.

An unidentified man called 911 and said he and his friend, Deon O’Neal Jenkins, were shot by a man they didn’t know while they were sitting in a parked vehicle. The man said the shooter, who was wearing a tan jacket, walked up to one of the windows and started shooting.

Jenkins may have been shot in the chest, the friend told 911 dispatchers.

The 911 caller then started to drive to the hospital, but was stopped at Fire Station 25 to receive aid from responding units.

The caller was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Jenkins, 26, was pronounced dead.

Officials at Station 25 reported the passenger side of the vehicle had numerous bullet holes.

Additional officers arrived and established a perimeter around the Circle K. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, Air One, responded to assist searchers. An officer with a police dog also helped with the search.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene and took the vehicle for the investigation. The shooter wasn’t found.

Detectives are still investigating.
