Part of State Road 408 was shut down for about two hours in east Orlando after a fire broke out on a garbage truck Friday afternoon.

Orange County Fire Rescue said the fire started just before 1:45 p.m. as the truck was traveling westbound on the 408, near Rouse Road (Exit 20).

Firefighters advised drivers heading westbound on SR-408 to exit at Rouse Road.

The westbound lanes reopened shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
