WINTER PARK, Fla. — A motorcyclist is dead after crashing through the window of a Denny's restaurant near Interstate 4 and Lee Road in Winter Park, according to a release from Florida Highway Patrol.

Lt. Kim Montes said the accident happened around 3:25 p.m., and Winter Park Police were at the scene.

The motorcyclist, who has not been named, was going eastbound on Lee Road and passing traffic that was stopped by going into the left-turn lane, stated the FHP in a press release.

As the motorcyclist tried to get back into the right lane, he lost control and struck the curb and entered the Denny's parking lot, stated the FHP.

The motorcyclist "was ejected and traveled through a glass window" of Denny's, stated the FHP, which added that he was taken to Advent Orlando where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation.
