KENANSVILLE, Fla. — Wild Florida’s annual Gator Week is set to return later this month with a lineup of activities designed to educate visitors about alligators and debunk common myths.

​The event will run May 23-28 and includes activities like gator jump-a-thons, shows, eating contests and more.

“Gator Week is back at full strength this year,” Wild Florida co-owner Sam Haught said in a statement. “We’re excited to feature family friendly activities but with a few new twists. Our goal is to shine a different light on these incredible animals and hope our guests walk away with a greater appreciation for them.”

For Gator Week, Wild Florida will also be raising money for student scholarships. The park will give free admission to visitors who donate any amount to the Wild Florida Scholarship Fund.

Wild Florida, which opened in 2010, also features airboat tours, animal shows, animal encounters and a drive-thru safari park.
