ORLANDO, Fla. — New details have emerged about the NBA Experience coming to Disney Springs.

  • NBA Experience set to open summer 2019
  • Attraction will feature basketball-themed activities
  • Visitors can perform slam dunks, test ball-handling skills

The attraction, which replaces DisneyQuest, will feature hands-on, basketball-themed activities.

A collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and the NBA, the NBA Experience will give visitors the chance to run through a series of time shots, perform slam dunks, test their ball-handling skills with an interactive trainer and participate in a replica of the NBA Combine challenge.

Visitors also will be able to use an oversized slingshot to launch basketballs at hoops, test their basketball knowledge in a NBA and WNBA trivia game and play interactive games, including video games.

There will also be a photo opportunity that recreates the NBA Draft experience and 180-degree cinematic presentation that recreates a pre-game ceremony. An exhibit will showcase the legacy and history of NBA and WNBA championship-winning teams.

The attraction will also feature a retail store with exclusive NBA-themed merchandise designed by Disney. A sports bar called City Works Eatery & Pour House will be located next to the attraction.

The NBA Experience is expected to open in the summer of 2019.
