Ryan Harper scours the roadways for troubles as Spectrum News 13's Real Time Traffic reporter. No stranger to the Orlando area market, Ryan Harper is a Florida boy through and through! He is honored to serve the Orlando area once again navigating people around traffic jams, helping to make your morning a little brighter.

Ryan's roots can be traced back to his immediate family, since he got his professional start working for his father and uncle's radio station in Melbourne. There, he anchored the morning news and even helped host a late night variety show.

While pursuing higher education at Florida State University, Ryan did some reporting work for Tallahassee's NPR station. Soon after college, Ryan became introduced to the area as a radio sideline reporter for his beloved Orlando Magic during the 2005–06 season.

Ryan's career then pushed him to news, where he has been reporting on traffic in Orlando for the last six years, sometimes on television, sometimes on radio, and even from a helicopter.

On weekends, you can find Ryan and his beautiful wife, Elise, at the area theme parks, hanging out with friends or relaxing at their house in Orlando with their cat, Mater. During the week, Ryan plays basketball to stay active.

He keeps his favorite sports teams in state as well being a huge fan of the Seminoles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays and, of course, the Orlando Magic.
