Tampa Bay Lightning Center Yanni Gourde was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft on Wednesday night.

Gourde played in 56 regular season games scoring 17 goals and 19 assists in 2020-21. He also skated in all 23 playoff games scoring six goals, including the lone goal in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals versus the New York Islanders.

According to the NHL, the 29-year-old was signed by the Lightning as a free agent in 2014 and has scored 187 points in 310 regular-season games and 29 points in 69 playoff games. 

This was Gourde's fifth full season in the NHL and has four years left on his current six-year, $31 million contract that he signed in 2018, according to Spotrac.com
