It's been 11 years since the Tampa Bay Bucs last played in the postseason. Nobody feels that drought more than nine-year vet Gerald McCoy.

For someone who spends his offseason watching old Super Bowl videos, a career without a postseason appearance would be incomplete for the 6-time Pro Bowler.

"It's motivation cause I want to be able to tell my story.  It motivates me. It's like man, I want to experience that," McCoy said.

The tale of McCoy playing in the postseason has yet to be told. But he's been hearing a lot of stories from the players the Bucs added in the offseason with playoff experience, including former Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul and two players from the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles, Vinny Curry and Beau Allen. McCoy appreciates the guidance of those that have played in the postseason.

"Alright, since you've done it, I'm gonna need you to help me be able to do it. So, I'm gonna need you to bring it so now I can have a story to tell," he said.

McCoy's appreciative of any help and he pays it forward. That's why you'll see him working with younger players well after practice is over.

"I never want any D-lineman to come through Tampa and say, man I didn't have that vet to show me how or I didn't have that guy to show me how, to take extra time with me," McCoy said.  He can relate to the rookies. He uses their mindset at the start of each season.

"I'm not Gerald McCoy, I'm No. 93. on a 91-man roster just trying to make the team. Once I make the team, then I'll be Gerald McCoy, then I'll be a Buccaneer."

And he hopes that this is the year he can add a postseason chapter to what's already been an impressive career.
