VIERA, Fla. — While college is not in the cards for all students following high school, a non-profit in Brevard County wants to help those kids who are not interested in pursuing a four-year degree.

Anjanette Wicks formed the non-profit Success Indeed Foundation to do just that.

What You Need To Know

  • The Success Indeed Foundation is geared towards kids pursuing carrers that don’t need a four-year degree

  • The program is open to all students in Brevard County

  • A kickoff event is set for Saturday, May 14

She said the idea is something she’s worked on for a few years, but is now ready to launch it into practice on June 1. To kick things off, they will be hosting a free concert at the Space Coast Stadium in Viera to let kids know about their upcoming programming.

Wicks said the idea was to have a non-profit that’s able to bring together a variety of non-profits around the county to offer things like culinary courses and welding training for free to all students, regardless of whether they attend public or private schools.

“We all have different gifts, we all have different passions and it’s important to find out what’s yours. And then once you find out what that is, you’re on your way to a good start,” Wicks said of the program.

The kickoff event will run from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. To register, click here.
