OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators are out again this morning in the area of Osceola County where the body of a missing Cocoa mother was found Friday.

Detectives found the body of Tashaun Jackson, 31, after an aerial search was conducted in the area of Nova Road and Deer Park Road.

Nova Road is still closed in that area.

Police and Jackson’s family says the mother of four went missing on Saturday, February 9, around 3 p.m. after taking a trip to a nearby 7-Eleven. Her family says she never returned.

Jackson was last seen on surveillance video inside the store on 947 Dixon Blvd. She was also shown on the video meeting an undisclosed person.

Police Follow Tip

Cocoa Police say Jackson's family contacted them after getting a tip from a "self-professed" psychic on where to look for the missing mom. The tip was that she might be in one of five ponds near Fiske and Dixon Boulevards.

Friday morning the Brevard Sheriff's Office helicopter hovered low over the murky waters, looking for any sign of Jackson as Cocoa Police oversaw the scene from the banks. Later in the day BCSO sent a boat and air-boat to assist in the search, thought nothing was found.

That area is about 20 miles away from where Jackson's body was found.

Cocoa Police say the family has been notified.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are at the rural Osceola County scene. Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement are assisting Cocoa Police.

The investigation is active and ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
