An I-4 ramp near downtown Orlando is closing for one year for the I-4 Ultimate Project.

The I-4 Eastbound on-ramp from Michigan Street will close Thursday at 10 p.m.

When it's complete, it will have a new bridge and ramp structures for better traffic flow.

The westbound Michigan Street exit-ramp will still be open, but project officials say this will impact about 7,400 drivers who use the ramp daily.

"It will be really important to allow some extra time to use that official detour to head up to Kaley Avenue,” said David Parks, I-4 Ultimate Public Information Officer. “Of course there are other streets you may be able to use, but the number one thing is to pack (your) patience and allow for some extra time."

You can find a detour map on the I-4 Ultimate Project website.
