Three people have been hospitalized after an overnight fire destroyed a mobile home in Seminole County.

  • No cause of fire has been released
  • One person suffered severe burns
  • 2 others had smoke inhalation

The fire started at about 1 a.m. Wednesday at the home on Champion Avenue, near State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs.

Most of the smoke was gone and the flames put out firefighters late Wednesday morning, but the three-bedroom, two-bathroom mobile home was lost.

Firefighters have not determined how the fire started. When they arrived, the mobile home was engulfed in flames.

One witness who called 911 said at one point, the flames were 50 feet in the sky.

The three occupants were outside when crews got there, and they were taken to a hospital. One person had severe burns, and the others were taken for smoke inhalation.

It took a little more than an hour for firefighters to put out the fire, with at least five trucks with Seminole County Fire.
