This is the last week that Bucs players have to come here to One Buc Place until about a month and a half from now when training camp begins.

But while you'd think everyone would be ready to leave, Jameis Winston says it's just the opposite.

"I'm just going to be anxious, man,"  Winston said.  "I'm just going to be anxious to get back.  And I'm going to be doing everything I can to stay prepared, to stay in the mojo of football."

"I think I feel that way, and I think the whole team feels that way," defensive tackle Clinton McDonald said.  "It's one thing being here, and it's one thing being home.  When we work hard together, it just brings about another spirit about the team- another sense of cohesiveness.

"And I think guys don't really want to leave even though you have a six week period before training camp.  I think every guy, every man on this field, every man in the organization- whether upper level, lower level, in a sense of preparing for the opportunity that's going to beset us in the future."

The Buccaneers started mandatory mini-camp Tuesday.

It's a three-day set of two hour practices that's set up similar to last week's organized team activities.

The big difference is that the entire team is participating.

Free agent addition Desean Jackson was back with the team after missing most of the OTA practices.

Jackson delighted fans in attendance as he hauled in a long touchdown pass from Jameis Winston late during Tuesday's practice.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter was excited when we shared that multiple players had told us they were already counting down the days to training camp.

"That’s encouraging to hear that," Koetter said.  "I hope those guys are thinking that way.  In our team meetings over the next couple of days, I’ll be painting a little bit of a picture of what we’re trying to expect in the fall.  Up to this point, we’ve been focusing on other stuff in the team meetings.  But that’s what I’ll turn my focus to these last two days."

High expectations have only fueled that drive and work ethic.

In this league, you have to grind out every win, and that mentality begins now.

"Guys can talk and tell us and predict our future, but at the end of the day, we've got to get on that field," Winston said.  "We've got to execute, and we've got to play."

We got another sneak peak at the much anticipated kicking competition between Roberto Aguayo and Nick Folk near the end of Tuesday's practice.

Folk made four of his five attempts, missing a 54-yard kick just short in his final boot of the day.

Aguayo followed Folk by making each of his five kicks, including the 54-yarder.

Practice was moved up by an hour this Tuesday due to ominous clouds and rain in the forecast.

But on the practice field, it's been all sunshine.

That's where the Buccaneers players want to prove their playoff contenders in 2017.
