The top girls basketball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Spectrum Sports staff:

1. Lake Highland (21-6) – Highlanders limited Jones to 13 points in the second half as they defeated the Tigers 42-33 to claim the 5A, District 6 title.

2. Leesburg (22-5) – Yellow Jackets topped Bishop Moore for the third time this season in the 6A, District 13 championship game.  

3. Bishop Moore (22-4) – Hornets are hoping for a repeat of last season when they lost to Leesburg in the district final but beat the Yellow Jackets in regionals.  

4. Wekiva (19-8) – Mustangs narrowly squeaked past Apopka 50-48 in the 9A-3 semifinals before beating West Orange 53-51 to win the district title.

5. West Orange (20-7) – Warriors district final loss means they’ll travel to Colonial for Thursday’s regional quarterfinals.

6. Jones (19-7) – Tigers need to win at Ocala Trinity Catholic to earn another shot at Lake Highland in the region semifinals.      

7. Spruce Creek (19-8) – Hawks cruised past Jacksonville Mandarin and Flagler Palm Coast to take the 9A, District 1 championship.

8. Ocoee (20-6) – Knights postseason prospects came to an abrupt halt with a 66-63 season-ending loss against Ocala West Port in the 8A, District 5 semifinals.

9. Oviedo (22-5) – Lions avenged two regular season losses to Winter Springs by topping the Bears 57-52 in the 9A, District 2 championship game.

10. Winter Springs (22-4) – Bears lost 50-45 at Spruce Creek on Jan. 24 and they’ll get another shot at the Hawks on Thursday in the region quarterfinals.
