Austin Seferian-Jenkins is climbing his way out of the doghouse and up the depth chart.

The Bucs favorite offseason punching bag is quietly working his way back into Tampa Bay’s good graces.

“Like Coach (Dirk) Koetter says, if you are put down on the depth chart, all you ask from the players, not just myself, but the whole entire room, is to get better,” Seferian-Jenkins said. “And that is to perfect your craft, get detail oriented and do what the coaches ask you to do.”

Seferian-Jenkins wasn’t always doing what the coaches asked him to do. That was magnified during OTA’s when Koetter ejected the third-year tight end from a workout.

He doesn’t want to be known as the guy who got kicked out of practice and admittedly rusty when training camp started, Seferian-Jenkins said he’s dusted off the cobwebs and concentrated on the little things to help improve his game.

He began training camp working with the second team, but lately, he’s been splitting time first-team reps with Cameron Brate.

“Nothing’s changed on my end,” he said.  “I’m working hard, I’m doing what I’m supposed to do and it just happens that it’s just showing up.

“Nothing’s really changed on my end,” he said. “I’m really excited to just keep working.”
