Several locals cleaned up the end of the year football awards.

Northside Christian senior quarterback Griffin Alstott was named the Class 2A Player of the Year.

Alstott, the son of former Tampa Bay Bucs great Mike Alstott, helped lead his Mustangs team to the state semifinals for the first time in school history. threw for 2,410 yards with 31 TDs and 8 interceptions. He also rushed for 235 yards and 8 TDs. Alstott has verbally committed to Purdue University.

Cocoa senior quarterback Bruce Judson, a USF commit, was named the Class 4A Player of the Year. He led the Tigers to the 4A title, passing for 1,163 yards with 16 TDs and four interceptions while also rushing for 866 yards on 130 carries (6.7 avg.) with 9 TDs.

First-year head coach Doug DeMyer is the 6A Coach of the Year. He guided the Braves to a state runner-up finish.

And after leading Cocoa to the 4A title, John Wilkinson was named the 4A Coach of the Year. The Tigers finished with a an 11-1 record and capped off the season with Wilkinson's fourth state title.

All of the winners are finalists for the Florida Dairy Farmers Florida Mr. Football and overall Coach of the Year honors.
