The First Academy Royals girls volleyball team defeated The Benjamin School from Palm Beach Gardens in straight sets to take home the FHSAA Class 4A State Chamionship Thursday night at West Port High School in Ocala.

It's the sixth FHSAA state title for the Royals who took home the hardware for the first time since winning it all in 2012. TFA won 5-straight titles from 2008-2012 under three different head coaches.

The Royals were led by senior Outside Hitter Brynna DeLuzio who had 23 kills and 25 digs. DeLuzio will be playing in the PAC-12 next season with the Colorado Buffaloes.

First Academy's Matti McKissock (Clemson commit) added 13 kills and 23 assists while her sister Elli McKissock added 20 digs in the win.

Benjamin ended their season 13-8 and was led by junior Middle Blocker Emma Lange who had 9 kills and 3 blocks.

Fourth season head coach Haley Malone and the First Academy Royals finish the season with a record of 26-4 and move into a 6th place tie with Miami Sunset for most all-time FHSAA state volleyball titles. Cardinal Gibbons has the most titles with 19.
