Lake Mary scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to shock Lake Brantley and keep the Mayors Challenge Cup in their hands, with a 45-41 final score.

Rams senior quarterback Cannon Thompson threw laser beams the entire fourth quarter connecting with Alex Tichonoff twice, New-K Tillman and CJ Lamar to clinch the comeback.

Lake Mary (5-0, 3-0) was down by 17 at the start of the fourth quarter.

With 8:10 to play in the game the Patriots (2-4, 1-2) fumbled the ball near their own 20, Rams Jalen Burgess recovered the ball to set up a Thompson to Tillman score to bring the Rams within three, 41-38.

Under a minute to play Thompson would hit CJ Lamar for the game winning touchdown.

Patriot’s Jared Bernhardt, who ran back an earlier punt for a TD, was set to return again but this time stopped near the 35.

As the clock winded down George Claytons Patriots decided to go with back-up QB Nathan Guzman—the plan was to throw a hail marry and get down field.

Instead the pass was intercepted.

Thompson finished the night with 27-for-40 passing, 375 yards and five touchdowns as he kneed the final down of the game.
