A little over two months ago, an Orlando teenager was found dead in his home.

Spectrum News 13 spoke exclusively to the grieving father who is in desperate need of some closure.

Amaury Machado said burying your child is an unexplainable feeling.

“It’s the worst feeling a parent can go through,” Amaury said.

Seventeen-year-old Justin Machado was an honor student and a baseball lover. He would send a text message to his father every morning. One text message reading, “Good morning love you guys.”

On Jan. 9, Amaury didn’t receive a text from Justin. He said on that day, his son was shot to death inside of their home in Lynchburg Court in Orlando.

The Machado family no longer lives where the crime took place. They say that home is a painful reminder of what happened to Justin and that moving out was part of their healing process.

Little is known about the case, which is why Amaury is hoping someone will come forward with answers.

“Who did this? Why? We don’t understand. Was he a target? What exactly happened? What is the motive?” Amaury asked.

Detectives are looking for a silver Infiniti Sedan with a sunroof and stock rims.

“We’re also looking for the individual that gave him a ride that afternoon of Jan. 9, from the school to home, because he was not on the school bus,” Amaury said.

Pictures are all the Machados have left to remember their only child.

“Today is my son. Tomorrow it can be yours, or it can be my next door neighbor. When is it enough?” Amaury said.
