Multiple homes, a car and a motorcycle were struck by lightning on Saturday as storms moved through Brevard County, fire officials said.

Brevard County Fire Rescue said approximately eight structures that were struck by lightning sustained minor damage.

A car and a motorcycle were also struck by lightning in separate incidents, BCFR said.

The car was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 near mile marker 220 in Titusville when the first incident happened.

The air bags deployed when lightning stuck the vehicle, officials said. The driver was taken to Parish Medical Center with minor injuries.

A second person was also injured when lightning struck a motorcycle traveling northbound on I-95.

The motorcyclist was taken to Parish Medical Center with minor injuries.

Firefighters also responded to multiple brush fires that were started by lightning in the North Melbourne, Suntree and Viera areas.
