Negotiations are set to begin over wage increases at Walt Disney Word.

Six labor unions of the Service Trades Council Union—which represents 38,000 cast members, will present their proposal on Monday.

The proposal seeks a “living wage” of $15 an hour for cast members.

Union representatives say workers would reach that pay rate by 2028, but they want to accelerate that.

Representatives also plan to ask for cost-of-living increases for cast members who have worked at the resort for a long time.

Wages at Disney World, which is the only unionized theme park in the Orlando area, affect what hospitality workers at other companies earn.

In 2014, the last time the unions and Disney entered negotiations, Disney agreed to raise starting pay to $10 an hour, up from $8.03. Other theme parks in the area followed suit, raising their starting pay.

However, union representatives say that thousands of hospitality workers in Central Florida continue to struggle with poverty.

The six unions that comprise Service Trades Council are Teamsters Local 385, TCU Local 1908, Unite Here Local 362, Unite Here Local 737, UFCW Local 1625 and IATSE Local 631.

There are approximately 70,000 cast members throughout Disney World, making it the largest single-site employer in the U.S.
