Three people were struck by vehicles Thursday morning in two unrelated incidents near schools in Palm Bay.

The first incident happened near the entrance of Odyssey Charter School and involved a father and a 5-year-old child. The father was walking his child across the crosswalk when they were struck by a car turning into the school. They suffered minor injuries, Palm Bay police Lt. Mike Bandish.

In a second incident, a student was struck while crossing the street with his bike, police said. The student was crossing along Emerson Drive and Glencove Avenue, near Discovery Elementary School. While crossing at the crosswalk, a vehicle turned left and hit him, police said.

The driver left the scene, but was eventually arrested.

The condition of the student is unknown.
