For your Tuesday we will have a repeat of a mix of sun and clouds to start with a few isolated showers and storms developing in the afternoon. Highs will climb into the mid to low 90s. This pattern will hold through the rest of the week ahead.
In the tropics, Hurricane Gert is not expected to make landfall or pose any threat to Central Florida or land. Gert became a Category 1 hurricane Monday night, but it will be turning back to the northeast into north Atlantic waters.
Another wave we are watching is Invest 91-L that is expected to merge with a broad low pressure area just southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Environmental conditions are expected to be more conducive for development by midweek as it continues to move westward across the warm Atlantic waters at 15 mph.
If you are heading out on the intracoastal with the boat, expect a moderate chop. A few isolated showers and storms could pose a hazard Tuesday afternoon.
Heading out to the beaches? Wave heights for surfers will be 1-2 feet resulting in poor-fair surfing conditions. With the moderate risk for rip currents, it is always safe to stay near a life guard! UV indices will be elevated again so don't forget the sunscreen!
