Another round of showers and storms are expected for Central Florida this weekend. Here's a look at the forecast.

  • More showers and storms
  • Temps in the mid 70s
  • Rain to stick around for Father's Day

We will see spotty overnight showers. Otherwise mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the mid to low 70s. Father’s Day will be active again with a 60 percent chance of showers and storms by the afternoon and early evening. The highs will be near 90.

Another active week ahead with the tropics possibly playing a part in our rain and storm coverage. Even of an area of low pressure builds in the central and western Gulf, we will still see an increasing coverage of showers and storms back up to a 70 percent chance through Wednesday. The highs drop a bit, into the mid to upper 80s. Rain and storm chances drop by the end of the week. Only a 40 percent chance by Saturday.

There is currently an 80 percent chance that the low heading towards the Gulf could become a tropical system in the next 5 days. Another wave well off in the Atlantic has a 60 percent chance of formation over the next 5 days.

Boating conditions will be favorable early in the day on Sunday with winds coming out of the southeast at  5-10 knots but increasing to 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas will be 2-3 ft with a moderate chop along the inter-coastal. With the chance of showers and storms in the afternoon, conditions can quickly become hazardous. Unfortunately for the surfers, conditions will be poor with wave heights only coming in at 1-2 ft. If you plan on heading out the beaches, there is a moderate risk for rip currents but it is always safer to swim near a lifeguard and don’t forget the sunscreen!
