Dry weather will continue through the week, with making the fire threat worse. Here's a look at the next few days:

  • Rain chances returning soon
  • Dry and unseasonably warm the next few days
  • Elevated fire danger persists

We had a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday afternoon as temperatures climbed into the 80s. Some inland areas made it into the upper 80s and close to 90 degrees. There were a few isolated showers that moved inland off of the Atlantic, but they were very light and weakened quickly.

It still looks like a system early next week will bring a slightly higher chance for showers. Dry and unseasonably warm until then.

Mostly clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Temperatures will be mild, falling into the mid to low 60s. We’ll once again see areas of smoke and fog to start out the day on Thursday. This may create some visibility issues, similar to the past several mornings.

We’ll see mostly sunny skies for Thursday with temperatures back in the mid to upper 80s inland and low 80s along the east coast. A stray shower cannot be completely ruled out, but most will continue to stay dry.

Temperatures will be around 90 degrees Friday and continue through the weekend. A system will move in on Sunday, increasing rain chances late Sunday and into Monday. It will not be a complete washout, but we’ll take whatever rain we can get.

Boating conditions look favorable for Thursday, but if you’re wanting to swim or surf, watch for a high rip current threat.

An isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out for Wednesday as winds continue off of the Atlantic. Most will be dry with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs inland will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees and mid to low 80s along the coast. Not much will change for the rest of the week as temperatures continue to warm up even more. A system is expected to move through early next week and will hopefully bring some much needed rain.
