Firefighters are battling a 125-acre brush fire along Fort Christmas Road in Christmas.

It's an active fire, and about six homes have been notified. No evacuations have been ordered, and the fire is about 80 percent contained.

The Florida Forest Service and Orange County crews are working the fire.

Motorists are being told to be careful while driving in the are of State Road 50 and State Road 520.

Forestry officials are also fighting a second east Orange brush fire. The fire at Hal Scott Regional Preserve, which is north of State Road 528 and south of Bithlo, is 95 percent contained, burning around 85 acres.

Drivers near that fire should be careful in the area of State Road 50 and Avalon Park Road.

Forestry officials say both fires have died down for the night and crews will be back out in the morning to check on the areas.
