A car explosion in Rockledge last week that prompted the evacuation of a dozen homes was caused by an "improvised firecracker," police said Tuesday.

Rockledge Police said the blast was not caused by a bomb, though the bomb squad was called out. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, responded to the scene.
No arrests have been made.
The explosion that blew out the windows of a 1998 Lincoln Town Car happened Feb. 22 in the 1100 block of Groves Drive in the Marlin Manor neighborhood.
It left shattered glass on the road and yard.
