A woman was injured after a car pulled up to her Sanford home and started shooting early Tuesday morning, according to police.

In an email to Spectrum News 13, Public Information officer Ronny Neal explained that the 34-year-old woman saw a red Pontiac pull up to her home on Anderson Avenue before 2 a.m. and a passenger from the car started shooting.
The woman was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital for a non-life threatening injury, Neal confirmed.
During the investigation, police believed they found the car and tried to stop it, however, the vehicle fled, according to Neal.
However, a passenger got out of the car and ran away. Officers did not chase after the car, but did try to catch the passenger, but he got away, Neal stated.
The only description of the passenger is that he is a black male who was wearing a dark hoodie.
The investigation is ongoing.
