Following the cold front this weekend, most of Central Florida woke up Monday morning to temperatures in the 40s. Some of our northern spots even dropped into the upper 30s.

We had plenty of sunshine through the afternoon, but highs only made it into the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. Chilly temperatures stick around for another night before gradually warming back up the rest of the week.

Clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. With light winds and no clouds, temperatures will be a bit cold as we head toward daybreak. Most lows will drop into the mid to upper 40s with a few locations around 40 degrees.

Tuesday will be similar to our Monday, but a little warmer. Expect sunny skies with temperatures in the mid to low 70s.

We’ll gradually warm back into the low 80s, where temperatures will stay through next weekend. Not a lot of rain is expected until a slight chance moves in on Friday.

Beach and boating conditions look favorable over the next few days, with only a moderate rip current risk to worry about.

In the tropics, there are no named storms at this time. Phillippe was picked up by a cold front and pushed quickly to the northeast while losing its tropical characteristics.

There is another area of interest in the Central Atlantic that has a medium chance for development over the next five days. This area is not a big concern for Central Florida. If it develops, it will be given the name Rina.
