We had some strong southerly winds for our Thursday afternoon, which helped to bump temperatures back to around ten degrees above average. Highs reached the upper 70s to low 80s.

This warm up will be short-lived, as our next cold front slides south Friday. The end of our work week will be dry, but chilly, with highs only around 60 degrees.

A few showers will be possible early tonight, but those showers will move south as we head toward daybreak on Friday. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around overnight as temperatures fall to around 60 degrees.

Some of our northern spots will feel the effects of the cold front a little earlier and drop into the mid to low 50s.

Winds will be breezy out of the north-northwest heading into Friday afternoon. This will help to usher in some cooler air. Highs Friday afternoon will climb only into the mid to upper 60s. We’ll start out with mostly cloudy skies, but become mostly sunny during the afternoon.

It will get even colder this weekend with highs both Saturday and Sunday only around 60 degrees and the lows in the 40s. Our next chance of rain moves in Sunday.

With breezy winds following the front Friday, there will be a decent chop on the ocean and area lakes. A small craft caution is in place.
