Susan Griffin recalled that she was sleeping when she felt the house shake and then heard a loud noise.
"I jumped up, I opened up the door to the bedroom and I saw the tree and I felt as though I was in a dream, but then I realized it was reality and I was alive," said Griffin.
The heavy rain and strong winds from Hermine caused the tree to come crashing through the hallway, the bathroom and a guest bedroom.
The man who owns the house said the giant water oak fell from a neighbor's yard.
"I've done real estate for over 30 years and I've never seen this much damage happen in just a few seconds," said homeowner Mike Shrader.
Shrader said he had just remodeled parts of the home, but now believes the house is a complete loss.
The Bank of America in Belleview was also damaged by a tree, but there were no reports of flooding, authorities said.
Duke Energy stated they restored more than 14,000 power outages in the Marion County area due to Hermine.
As of 4:45 p.m, Friday, 1,723 Duke customers are without power.
