Let's see what the weekend look like for Centra Florida:

High pressure in the mid-levels of our atmosphere will continue to hold Julia off the coast of the Carolinas the next couple days. Julia’s proximity to the peninsula will keep us in the flow of moisture Saturday, but slightly drier air will push across the area Sunday & Monday.

Although we’ve had a few showers and isolated storms to round out the work week, activity has been pretty hit and miss. Everything shifts toward the west coast, with our sky clearing out a bit overnight.

As high pressure holds Julia at bay off the coast of the Carolinas, we’ll see drier undercut our moisture, allowing us to bring rain chances down to 40 percent Saturday, and 30 percent Sunday and Monday. Highs the next few days heat into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

We’re monitoring several disturbances in the tropics. Julia has been holding position and weakening, while Karl well out in the Atlantic continues rolling west.

Although surfing conditions will be fair, the rip risk for swimmers will remain high. Wave heights climb waist to chest high, with a potent north-northeast Julia swell out of the Cape shadow.
