Here's the weather forecast for Central Florida for Wednesday afternoon and into tomorrow.

Although most of the rain will die off overnight, a few isolated showers will still be possible under a mostly cloudy sky. Temperatures will back off into the middle 70s, then climb to near 90 Thursday afternoon.

Scattered showers and storms will develop too, lasting into the early evening. Chance for rain is around 60 percent.

Tropical Storm Julia has moved to our north centered along the South Carolina coast and is slowing down. High pressure in the Mid-Atlantic is the cause.

There also is a cold front sweeping East that is expected to draw Julie to the east for a couple of days, then as high pressure builds back, Julia will make a loop and go back West making landfall again near the South Carolina, Georgia line.

Julia should hold her own or even intensify somewhat while moving over warmer water before looping back.

In any case, since Julia will remain nearby, we will continue to have a deep moisture flow out of the west southwest keeping our rain chances elevated going into the weekend.

Afternoon showers and storms are anticipated each day while some breaks in the clouds will allow high temperatures to top near 90.

Surfing conditions will be poor to fair with a building ESE swell. Wave heights will be around knee to thigh high.

Rip current threat is low to moderate. Showers and storms will be possible, so be aware of any lightning and head in if you hear rumbles.

Elsewhere in the tropics:

Tropical Storm Ian continues its journey through the central Atlantic with no threat to land, and a tropical wave far out in the Atlantic, much closer to Africa, strengthened into Tropical Depression 12 late Wednesday morning.
